Epic 2000 Follower Giveaway! Plus Genre News, 18 Truths, and Ninja News

Genre News

Blastr posted photos of a wall in London covered with Alien graffiti.

The cast of Godzilla recently talked about the film. It’s been confirmed that part of the 2014 Godzilla movie will take place in 1954, the same year the very first Godzilla movie was released. You can read more at KpopStarz.

And on JoBlo, they confirmed that Amazon Studios will be making a Barbarella television series.

18 Truths

In celebration of her upcoming release, 18 Truths, Jamie Ayres is hosting a special blogfest this week and it includes prizes:
Players tell two truths and one lie. The object of the game is to hop around the blogs and determine which statement that each blogger posted is the false one. Anyone who posts for the Can You Handle The TRUTH? blogfest between January 22nd-28th can enter to win a number of prizes donated by 18 terrific people.

My two truths and one lie:
1 – I saw Rush five times on one tour alone.
2 – I partied with the band Night Ranger at a bar.
3 – I got to jam with Rik Emmett of Triumph once.

Which is the truth and which is the lie? Answer on Monday.

Juliana Haygert’s latest is out - Cup of Life. This novella takes place between book 2 and book 3 of The Everlast Trilogy. Congratulations, Juliana!

Cherie Reich revealed the cover for her upcoming novel, Reborn, Book One of The Fate Challenges.

To save a kingdom, a prophetess must challenge Fate.

Is that not a stunning cover? Congratulations, Cherie.

C. Lee McKenzie is participating in a contest and if she wins, she’ll sell one hundred copies of Alligators Overhead. She just needs a few more votes at Linked In

Tara at Feel of Something New just released a new book - Hands-on Therapy. Congratulations, Tara!

Godzilla is looking pretty good. No so keen on the Barbarella tv show, campy sci-fi tends to get old very quickly.

Congrats on getting 2000 followers (although I'm sure there are more than that visiting you regularly).

Wow! 2000 followers...that's amazing! Congrats, Alex!

Now that Master is away, do the dwarves count as an entity of their own? Our fingers itching to click the button.

Cherie's cover is amazing indeed. Go, Cherie!!

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Nick! Good to hear from you. You are first today.

Julie, you'll find out Monday.

Moody, not sold on Barbarella either. And with Google+, Linky Followers, etc., yes, there are a lot more than 2000.

Cindy, they are trying hard to compete with NetFlix.

If the Dwarves, have their own profile they count!

The alien graffiti is spooky; looks like demons - very cool!
The 'Reborn' cover is truly amazing.
All the best on the 2,000 followers. You certainly deserve to have that many.
Can't say I remember being lucky - sometimes 'blessed'.

I'm already a GFC follower. It's so much harder now knowing how many followers we have since google changed things. I know we have over 4000 but can't really verify it. And GFC moves up so much slower now. Good luck reaching your goal.

I'm still making my way slowly through the posts for the Online Marketing Symposium. It will probably take a few days to get through them. I don't want to miss out on any "marketing gems", waiting to be discovered...
And the lie is DEFINITELY #2.

LOVE the alien graffiti, and congrats on the followers...awesome contest! My husband's been to a couple of Rush concerts, but 5 in one tour, wow. I'm gonna guess that one as a lie. (And you're probably gonna say it was 6 concerts instead, haha)

I love the alien franchise - all of it, even the aweful ones - so that grafitti wall tickles me. And I will be going to see Godzilla, because it can't be worse than the last one - and the trailer does give me hope. But a Barbarella remake? I've been dreading that for ages. I love the original for how wonderfully awful it is.

Congratulations on getting so close to 2k!

Love that cover for Reborn. Makes me think of Father Dragon.

Talking of which, I don't really think the dwarves count as they are using the Dragon's name to comment.

As I don't know who those people are in your truth or lies I wouldn't have any idea if you were lying.

Love the alien graffitti, I wonder where in London.

Not sure if you are talking about graffiti as a proper noun or common noun?

In general, graffiti is not cool. It is the sign of someone trying to carve out a kingdom where none exists.

On the lie/truth--not a clue. Today, I think I'll believe almost anything. almost.

Hi Alex .. two thousand is a great number and you'll be ticking over soon - lots of time for everyone to enter the contest.

I hope Lee wins her contest .. giving away 100 copies of her book will be amazing ..

I think # 2 is the lie .. no idea why!

Cheers and good luck as the ticker tape ticks on .. Hilary

Congratulations - looks like it won't be too long until you hit the magical 2,000!

Love the Alien graffiti and Cherie Reich's book cover.

You can't go wrong with Jeremy's designs - the man is an artist!

Mark Koopmans said...

Never mind you... I want the 400 Clones to sign my copy :)

Currently standing at 1969 followers... that was a great year :)

Mark Koopmans said...

Oh and PS... you soooo didn't do #2 and if you did... I will find and post a picture of me in a grass skirt ahead of our upcoming dance off :)

(Wondering how many people are scrunching their faces and going... whaaat?

Ava Quinn said...

Can't believe I wasn't a follower yet. I swear I don't come up for air enough to truly pay attention. OY! Good luck on your 2000. That is truly epic!

Rhonda Albom said...

Congrats almost. 2000 is a pretty amazing milestone. As for Hot Tamales (assuming you refer to the red candies) - they don't have them in New Zealand. It is one of the things I have people bring over when they visit.

The lie, my guess is Rush.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Cuban, if I'd had the funds, I would do that.

Thanks, TF!

Thank you, Angela.

Tim, he is!

Mark, that's a lot of clone signatures. And just wait until Monday!

Thanks, Ava!

Rhonda, no Hot Tamales? The horror...

2000 is such a huge milestone. It takes a lot of work to get to 1000, and so that's doing it twice. I already follow you with both of my urls, or I'd follow again just to add to the excitement.

Very cool graffiti! And congrats to all the authors and to Cherie - sweet cover! I'll be over at linked in a bit for C.Lee.
Truth and Lies - hmm. I think #2 is false, not because I can't see you jamming with Night Ranger but because it just sounds a little different from the other two . . .

Congrats on 2000 followers. I'll tweet today. :)

Susan Flett Swiderski said...

Boy, lots and lots of good info here.

As for which of your tidbits is the lie, I've gotta go with the one that had you hanging out in a bar. Ninjas don't hang out in bars... unless they're drinking ginseng tea.

Alex J. Cavanaugh said...

Karen, appreciate the thought!

Rachna, good luck to you then.

RaShelle, thank you. YOU rock!

Tyrean, appreciate it, and you'll find out Monday.

Susan, either that or killing someone.

I'm sorry to say I don't see the need for another Godzilla movie and definitely no need for a series about Barbarella (unless it's a comedy/satire).

Congrats to Jamie, Juliana, Cherie, and Tara! I voted for C. Lee. :)

Luna said...

Oh, man...I can't guess which is the lie! I'll have to stop back and find out. :)

The symposium was a great idea. Lots of ideas shared and some new things learned.

Angela, that's why I selected those three items.

What's this Alex, you are going to giveaway 2000 followers? I'm okay with my total number of followers, a word I hate. However, thanks.

Seriously, you are getting close to the 2000 mark. You gain folks joining into your site, I lose folks joining into my site. Weird, eh.

All the links are noted as best I can. I need a faster computer or one of your clones.
